Finding the perfect fit for a First Communion dress can be a bit nerve-wracking for parents shopping online, so providing a clear guide is a great way to build trust and reduce returns.
Here is a “Size & Measurement Guide” blurb you can add to your category page or as a pop-up on product pages.
Finding the Perfect Fit: Our Measurement Guide
At Christian Expressions, we want her to feel comfortable and confident on her big day. Because Communion dress sizing can differ from standard “street clothes” or school uniform sizes, we highly recommend taking fresh measurements before you order.
How to Measure Like a Pro
To ensure the best fit, use a soft fabric measuring tape and have her stand naturally (not holding her breath!).
-
Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape snug but not tight.
-
Waist: Measure around the natural waistline (usually just above the belly button).
-
Length: Measure from the top of the shoulder down to where you want the hem to fall.
-
Note: Most traditional dresses are “Tea Length” (mid-calf) or “Floor Length.” Check individual product descriptions for the specific cut.
-
Pro-Tips for Success
-
The “Two-Finger” Rule: When measuring the chest and waist, leave enough room to fit two fingers under the tape. This ensures she can breathe and move comfortably during the ceremony.
-
Leave Room for Growth: If you are ordering several months in advance, consider adding 1″ to 2″ to your measurements to account for a growth spurt!
-
Alterations: Remember that a slightly larger dress can always be tailored down, but a dress that is too small is much harder to adjust.
